Stick to the Plan!

I hate wasting time, gas, money, basically anything. This is a trait I have inherited from my mother who studiously plans out her errand routes so that the amount of backtracking is as minimal as possible even if that means that some of the errands have to wait until the one day that she is heading to that section of town. However, yesterday I became my own worst enemy...Aaron and I had a lot to do yesterday. We had to go to the bank, drop off some presents to my brother-in-law's grandparents in Lindon, open a membership at Costco, go grocery shopping and we were given tickets to see the movie Avatar at 1pm. Oh, and I had work from 5pm - 10pm. It was the first day of break for Aaron where he actually didn't have to get up to go to class or study so we slept in until around 10am. As we were getting ready to leave I attempted to print off our tickets to the movie. However, the printer and I were not getting along well, so after a 30 minute fight Aaron rescued me and got the tickets printed out. I was also trying to plan our route to all the different places we needed to go and was doing so quite successfully on Google Maps. We were all ready to go (so we thought) and left the house at 11:15 which was a little later that we had hoped. Halfway to the bank we realized that the tickets to the movie were in the printer tray...at home. We turned around to pick up the tickets and head back to the bank now a lot later than we had hoped. After the bank we headed out to my brother-in-law's grandparents house in Lindon, just about 3/4 of the way there we realized that while we may be going to their house we most certainly did not have the presents with us that we were supposed to be giving them. Also we realized that if we turned around to go home not only would we be majorly backtracking but we would be late for our movie which has only been out since Friday. So we decided to just detour to the movie theater, however, upon arrival we figured that while we wanted to be there early to get a good seat we didn't want to be an hour and fifteen minutes early. So we decided to head to nearby Costco to at least open our membership, although we couldn't do the shopping there that we needed to because the refrigerated goods would go bad while we were in the movie. After successfully completing our mission at Costco we went back to the movie theater to relax and enjoy our movie. The movie got out at 4 and, as you remember, I had to be at work at 5 but we had to go home first so that I could change into my uniform and get something to eat. So my loving husband agreed to drop me off at work to go finish our errands which included going to drop off the presents, again, and go grocery shopping at Costco and then pick me up from work at 10pm. So by the end of the day we did get all of our errands accomplished but it was certainly not according to plan.

P.S. The movie was good, Aaron and I both really enjoyed it.

I am sorry! For what it is worth, it would have taken me 2 weeks to accomplish what you did in 1 day! I am sort of interested in that movie...is it too scary?

No, it's got some action in it but I wouldn't say scary. I probably wouldn't take Avey though...

Wow, what a ride!
We just saw the movie yesterday - amazing visual effects, too much liberal propaganda!
We'll see you guys soon, and good luck keeping up with it all!
