This post is dedicated to my grandmother Alene Kofford. For as long as I have been alive and longer my grandmother has been a pianist extraordinaire. Some of my earliest memories of my grandmother are listening to her accompany the quartet to which my parents and grandfather belonged. In most of these memories I had snuck out of bed and down the hall to lay on the floor and listen to them practice only to wake up in my bed the next morning after being placed there by my loving parents. My grandmother's ability to play the piano so well has continued to play a major part in my perception of her to this day and I now feel that being around the piano together with my family and grandma are precious times. She is a role model to me of service and of sharing our talents.
